In ninth-century China, Jin, an undercover policeman, investigates and reports
that a beautiful blind dancer named Mei may be a member of the House of Flying
Daggers, an underground resistance movement. The two set out for the group’s
headquarters, and fall in love as they fight through a series of dangers along
the way.
Zhao XiaoDing graduated from Beijing Film Academy in 1987 with a degree
in cinematography. He earned his first feature film credit that same year

with director Yimou Zhang’s, working as a cameraman on his martial
arts epic Hero. The two had a great working relationship, and when the director
began preparations for The House of Flying Daggers, the helmer quickly asked
