Brokeback Mountain

Rodrigo Prieto, ASC, AMC has earned Oscar®, ASC, and BAFTA award nominations for photographing Brokeback Mountain. Priento was born in Mexico and took cinematography courses at Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica. He began his career shooting commercials in Mexico. He won the Silver Ariel Award for Best Cinematography in Mexico for Sobrenatural (1996), Un Embrujo (1998) and Amores perros (2000), for which he also received a Golden Frog at the Camerimage International Festival of Cinematography. In 2003, he earned an ASC Award nomination for his work on Frida. His additional credits include Original Sin, 8 Mile, 25th Hour, 21 Grams, Alexander and Looking for Fidel.
