Brothers
Gina
DeGirolamo was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She earned a degree
in communications at Ohio State University and began her foray into
the professional world as a receptionist at a commercial company
in New York. After a few years, DeGirolamo was promoted to production
assistant. She became hooked on cinematography during her first experience
on set. DeGirolamo has been working her way through the ranks with
guidance from many cinematographers including Stephen Confer, Tony
Palmieri, Victor Goss, ASC, and Richard Walden. Her credits as a
camera operator include eight seasons of Arli$$, two seasons
of Providence, and three seasons of Dream On. She has
photographed the independent features Jerome, Equinox Knocks, Edge
of Seventeen, Gypsy 83, and the documentary Between
the White Lines. DeGirolamo recently organized Gratitude Works,
a production company with partners Saba Moor and Ellen Gould-Silcott.
She is currently producing and shooting the documentary Hulatopia.
Brothers is about two men of different race who have
a chance meeting and discover through conversation that they are, in
fact, brothers. Moor wrote and directed the film, which recently debuted
at the Damah Film Festival in Los Angeles. DeGirolamo credits her experience
on many sets with helping the “incredibly smooth and efficient” production
of Brothers. She color-timed the film during postproduction
to create the appropriate looks for the varying time periods. Brothers will
be distributed by The Spiritual Cinema Circle™.
