California Assembly member Paul Krekorian Delivers Weekly Radio Address on Saving Hollywood JobsSaving Real Hollywood Jobs In the Oct. 6 Democratic weekly radio address Assemblymember Paul Krekorian, Chair of the Assembly’s Select Committee on the Preservation of California’s Entertainment Industry, explained why saving Hollywood jobs is much more than keeping the movie and TV stars employed. In the radio address Assemblymember Krekorian says, quote, “Once you scratch the glamorous surface of Hollywood, you can see a very different entertainment industry -- you see the real Californians who make up the backbone of this industry. You’ll see the carpenter who is in his truck every morning by five to build sets, or the seamstress whose experienced hands have been altering costumes for 30 years, or the truck driver who delivers equipment to filming locations. You’ll see the electrician, the caterer, the camera operator, the painter, or the production assistants. These folks may not have fan clubs – but they have families who depend on their income.” To listen to the full radio address, click here 10/08
