IATSE Local 1 and Broadway Producers Negotiate Through the Night

Broadway theaters and IATSE Local 1 negotiated all night and into the morning on Nov. 26 to try to end a 16-day strike that has darkened most of Broadway.  Talks was set for later Monday.

Talks had resumed on Sunday for the first time in a week.

"Negotiations between the League of American Theatres and Producers and Local One ended at 7 a.m. ET and will resume following a 12-hour adjournment at 7 p.m. today," the League said in a statement.

Both sides declined to comment on any progress.

Most of Broadway's theaters have been dark for more than two weeks after stagehands went out on strike on Nov. 10.

Some two dozen Broadway shows have been suspended, with eight shows allowed to continue.

The last strike to hit Broadway was in 2003 when musicians walked out for four days. Before that it had been nearly two decades since Broadway was affected by a labor dispute.
