2007 Breaks Record for Box Office Sales

The 2007 domestic box office brought in $9.62 billion, the best year on record.

This year’s figures were 4% higher than the previous 2002 record and a 5% gain over 2006, according to Rentrak and Nielsen EDI.

But admissions were only 1% higher than those in 2006 and down from 2002.

All six major studios cross the $1 billion mark at the domestic box office.
