Richardson Claims Oscar

Richardson Claims OscarLocal 600 member Robert Richardson took home his second Academy Award for his work with Martin Scorsese on The Aviator when the Oscars were presented on Feb. 27.

Richardson - who received the award for Best Achievement in Cinematography - joined fellow collaborators Cate Blanchett (Supporting Actress), Dante Ferretti and Francesca Lo Schiavo (Art Direction), Sandy Powell (Costume Design) and Thelma Schoonmaker (Film Editing) in the winners' circle. The Aviator was nominated in 11 categories.

The cinematographer previously claimed an Oscar for his work on JFK (1992). He was also nominated for Snow Falling on Cedars (2000), Born on the Fourth of July (1990) and Platoon (1987).
