NOMINEES ANNOUNCED
Los Angeles: Nominees have been selected for the
ICG 43rd Annual Publicists Awards in the following categories: Press
and International Media, which honor outstanding journalists who cover
the entertainment industry; Excellence in Unit Still Photography, which
recognizes a photographer’s
significant contributions to the craft of unit still photography; the
Les Mason Award, which recognizes a publicist whose work reflects the
highest professional standards; and the Maxwell Weinberg Publicist Showmanship
Awards for Movies and Television, which honor individual union publicists
whose achievements in publicity and promotion during the previous calendar
year have been outstanding. Award recipients will be announced at the
ICG 43rd Annual Awards Luncheon Wednesday, March 1 at the Beverly Hilton
Hotel. Below are the nominees and their categories:
The Press Award:
Scott Bowles, USA Today; Claudia Puig, USA Today; Stacy Jenel Smith,
Beck/Smith Hollywood; Bonnie Tiegel, Entertainment Tonight/The Insider;
Bill Zwecker, Chicago Sun Times.
The
International Media Award: Paola Abou-Jouade, Brazil; Anita Baum,
Argentina; Simon Braund, UK; Anke Hoffman, the Netherlands; Christine
Kruttschnitt, Germany; and Lynn Tso, Taiwan.
Excellence
in Unit Still Photography: Andrew Cooper, David James,
Justin Lubin, Frank Masi and Zade Rosenthal.
The
Les Mason Award: Sharon Black, DreamWorks; Jeff Hare,
Warner Bros.; Mary Hunter, Warner Bros.; Pat Kingsley, PMK/HBH; and
Tim Menke, Independent.
The Maxwell Weinberg Publicist Showmanship Award
for Television: The union publicists who worked on “Without
a Trace,” Warner Bros. Television, Jerry Bruckheimer Prods, CBS; “Veronica
Mars, Silver Pictures Television, UPN; “Grey’s Anatomy,” Touchstone
Television, ABC; “Lost”, Touchstone Television, ABC;
and “My Name Is Earl,” 20th Century Fox TV/NBC.
The Maxwell Weinberg Publicist Showmanship Award
for Motion Pictures: The union publicists who worked on “Charlie
and the Chocolate Factory,” Warner Bros.; “The Chronicles of Narnia:
the Lion , the Witch and the Wardrobe” Walt Disney Pictures; “Good
Night and Good Luck,” Warner Independent; “Memoirs of a Geisha,” Columbia
Pictures; and “Walk the Line,” 20th Century Fox.
Other awards to be presented at the luncheon are the Motion
Picture Showmanship Award, the Television Showmanship Award; the
Lifetime Achievement Award; The Award of Merit, and the Bob Yeager
Award, which goes to a publicist in recognition of
outstanding community service.
