Local 600 President Steven Poster, ASC to Lead Seminar about Role of Camera Crew at Annual University Film &Video Association ConferenceLocal 600 President Steven Poster, ASC will lead a seminar about the roles and responsibilities of individual camera crew members, and their collaboration with directors at the 61st Annual University Film & Video Association Conference. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss and ask questions about the dynamics of collaboration, beginning at 8 p.m. on August 8, following a Kodak reception. Kodak will offer hands-on workshops, seminars and the latest information about its education initiatives at the conference held at University of North Texas here from August 7-11. “This seminar will provide invaluable insights into how the collaborative process works, which is a very important element within the filmmaking profession,” says Wendy Elms, worldwide education segment manager for Kodak's Entertainment Imaging Division. “All of our activities at the UFVA conference are designed to provide opportunities for the mentors of the next generation of filmmakers with practical information that will help them prepare their students for the future.” Additionally, industry experts will lead a Kodak-hosted workflow seminar, focusing on the convergence of film origination and digital postproduction that will begin with breakfast at 8:15 a.m. on August 9. Kodak will also host Stop By Shoot Film workshops that offer a hands-on opportunity for shooting film. Kodak cinematographer Randy Tack and guest cinematographer Bart Weis will lead the classes, which are being held August 9 and August 10 at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Participants receive DVDs to view the results of their work.
