Applications for Eighth Annual International Cinematographers Guild Scholarship Grants Now Available

Dear Member,

The International Cinematographers Guild Scholarship Fund is happy to announce a call for applications to the Eighth Annual International Cinematographers Guild Scholarship Grants.

Ten $2000.00 educational grants are available to children and grandchildren of Inter-national Cinematographers Guild members in good standing. The grants are for use in attending full time post-secondary education, for the academic year 2008-2009. High school seniors, as well as students in any year of higher education school are welcome to apply. Students who have applied in the past are welcome to apply again.

These grants are available for any course of study in any accredited college, university, graduate school, junior college, conservatory, or any other post-high school technical school in the United States. The study of cinematography or photography is not a pre-requisite for the ICG grants. In keeping with the spirit and diversity of our membership, we award these grants based on the applicant’s commitment to their own individual growth represented in their essays and recommendations, as well as by their academic and extra-curricular endeavors.

In addition, we are pleased to announce an additional grant being offered this year. It is the William E. Hines Scholarship in Cinematography for $1000.00. It will be awarded to a student committed to a career in cinematography and majoring in film, cinematography, or specifically related major (as determined by the Committee).

Our scholarship applications are available beginning September 15, 2007. If your child or grandchild is interested in applying for the ICG Scholarship Grant, please request an application by calling the National Office at 323-876-0160 OR download the application by clicking here.

Completed applications must be mailed to the National Office postmarked by no later than January 31, 2008. We will not accept requests for applications or completed applications returned via e-mail.

We hope you take advantage of these scholarship grant opportunities!

Cordially,
The ICG Scholarship Committee
