WGA Strike: Resources Available for Local 600 Members

Local 600 is doing all we can to help members who are impacted by the WGA strike.

We all hope the strike will end soon and have a minimal effect on our membership. Meanwhile, we are exploring ways to help our union members. We are currently researching unemployment compensation options in various states and will keep you posted.

The Actors Fund
(Available to All Regions)

The Actors Fund is a national, nonprofit organization serving all entertainment professionals through comprehensive services and programs. Services include information, counseling and referrals, assistance in locating legal and health services as well as information on affordable housing and advice in dealing with landlord/tenant issues.  They offer seminars and groups on a wide variety of relevant topics.  In addition, emergency financial assistance may be provided for basic living expenses such as rent or medical expenses.

The Los Angeles County Federation Labor Community Services (Available to Los Angeles Members)

The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, is the chartered Central Labor Council for the AFL-CIO in Los Angeles. The Community Services arm of the Federation offers members assistance with utility bills. It also offers workshops on how to survive when the paycheck stops.
