Change to Win Coalition Stresses Organizing at Conference

Members of the Change to Win Coalition, which disaffiliated from the AFL-CIO this summer, laid out plans at its national organizing conference in Las Vegas to infuse new momentum in efforts to unionize the American workforce.

The Change to Win Coalition chairwoman Anna Burger said the unions will carry out a broad strategy to organize workers as a way to revive the labor movement.

“We’re looking at whole industries at a time, not working shop-to-shop, like they have in the past,” she said.

The Change to Win Coalition includes SEIU, the Teamsters, the United Food and Commercial Workers, the Carpenters, the Laborers International Union of North America, the United Farm Workers and UNITE HERE.
