AFL-CIO and Change to Win Coalition Support Local Partnerships

The AFL-CIO and the Change to Win Coalition announced on Nov. 16 that the two are moving forward with a Solidarity Charter to unite the labor movement at the local level.

“Local unions will be able to continue working together to advance the interests of working families in organizing campaigns, strikes, boycotts and political activities and that’s a real plus for our movement,” said AFL-CIO President John Sweeney.

The Change to Win Coalition includes SEIU, the Teamsters, the United Food and Commercial Workers, the Carpenters, the Laborers International Union of North America, the United Farm Workers and UNITE HERE.
