California Labor Federation Supports Legislature’s Latest Proposal for Health Care Reform But with Changes

The California Labor Federation has backed the latest Health Care Reform measure from the state legislature while cautioning that certain changes still needed to be addressed.

“The California Labor Federation is appreciative of the Speaker's constructive efforts and recognizes that the Governor has attached his political legacy to health care reform,” said the labor federation’s Executive Secretary-Treasurer, Art Pulaski. “However, only good health care policy will translate into good health care politics for the Governor.“

Pulaski said the federation would support the proposal if the plan offered more affordable costs to middle class workers and required employers to take up more responsibility.
