How do the filter settings on a Digi Beta differ from those on a DSR 500?

I'm a pretty accomplished DV Director (using the Sony DSR 500) but would like to step up to Digi Beta. I know the Digi Beta has two filter rings. What are these and under what conditions should the various setting be applied?
